I'm in in a bit of a pickle. I seem to have lost a bag with my two folding knives as well as my spare Havalon Baracuta blades.

I'm supposed to take my brother out hunting next weekend and I don't have time to go to Cabelas. I'm hoping Amazon Prime can save me.

Normally I use the 115XT "hunting knife" blades, but all they have on prime for quick delivery is the 127XT fillet blades.

Has anyone used the 127XT fillet blades? Would they work for boning out a bear?

Ugh I hate losing stuff. I hope that baggie turns up :(

If you come through Harrison or mission I can give you some of the regular blades.

Unfortunately I'm not out that way but wow I really appreciate the offer Matt. Thank you for that!

And for anyone who has not used them and just wants to guess if they would work for boning out / butchering:

Fillet blades (127XT):

vs what I normally use (115XT)

Not ideal, but if it is the only blade in your pocket - use it. The pointy end of 127 will give you some frustration every time you stick it to bone.

or in your thumb...

I look forward to another entry in your injury thread...

Solid assessment. I went ahead and ordered them 2 day shipping. I think they'll do the job but awkward. So far I've been lucky on the injury front. I knick myself here and there, but seem to have a horse shoe up my arse when it comes to anything major. I should be missing some fingers and been killed a couple times but the good luck thing comes into play to counter the bad luck or stupidity. Actually had an ultra light backpack hatchet get away from me a couple weeks back... somehow missed my feet/legs.
