Hi Guys,
We are headed to the Tetsa river this fall, we are looking for a few tips from guys who have taken the trip before. We are going elk and wondering which direction to head once we get to camp?

Thanks

Since nobody is helping you out on this one, I think you have four options... North, South, East and West. My suggestion is to go West.

Going with an outfitter or do it yourself. Where is your camp, using horses or hoofing it,

We are goining in with Tetsa river Outfitters, and the plan is to stay at the Camp on the airstrip.

Don't worry about making a plan where to hunt, Doug will put you on to them.

Not sure why you are asking when you are going in with a local outfitter

Not sure why you are asking when you are going in with a local outfitterTRO is a transporter for self-guided hunters

The airstrip is down on the river around 20 km from the highway

You will be in prime hunting area I would suggest climbing to some high ground glass and call I have hunted with Testa River before and you will be in a great spot with game in it. Good glass and good boots and you should have a great hunt.

Hmm have been in the NORTH Tetsa numerous times..seen B&C CARIBOU..sheep..bears..but never elk ..however that is the north tetsa.

Beautiful..best tasting water in all bc..imo..
Fall storms are immediate and intimidating. From nice to snow ..deep snow..not as drastic as Maeford lake in the Cariboo mts but impressive.
Good luck..never used a guide..just headed in.

There is elk there, few and far between however. Partner killed a cow there 4 years ago. Lots of moose though.

Your not understanding, Its the airstrip about 20 km down the river not along the highway

We got into some elk 25km on foot down a north Tetsa horse trail..shot a nice 6 point, only time I haven't been happy after pulling the trigger lol 3 trips in and out later we had the whole thing and camp back to the highway..pain was short the story lasts forever lol

Possibly see you up there. lol We are going in again with Tetsa River Outfitters, have hunted with them twice at Tetsa. Twice from there home in Rose Prairie, and I gave them a hand outfitting the year before last. My partner has done the trips with me but has been seriously ill for a number of years now, he is in a bit of a remission so he wants this to be the last great hunt of his life, You only live once.
