So I have heard tales of turkeys in region 8, I have seen tracks before so I know they are here, albiet quite rare from what I can tell. Has anyone actually gotten a gobbler here? Specific locations would be accepted, but even just a bit of validation would be nice haha. I have no interest in bear hunting at this point in my young hunting life, but I want to get out this spring and turkey hunting really interests me. I understand that this topic may have been beat to death, so apologies in advance if that's the case... I don't really regular this forum - though I have been lurking from time to time over the years.

Cool, thanks. Do they tend to stay up higher in the spring? or closer to valley bottoms? I know you said near creeks, but I am wondering if I should start low and work my way up, or start high and hike down. I'll be going alone so I don't really want to bother with a blind if I can avoid it... I'd rather just sit under a tree and call, and move if I feel the need.

No shortage of birds in 8 but they are everywhere in 4. Like bears, they follow the green-up. Regularly see them up high at snowline during the spring.

I got one last spring in region 8. It was standing beside the road gobbling away, not nearly as tough to hunt as I have always heard.
