Hey guys.

How is hunting around Dawson Creek?

Getting job offer from there and might be coming up for work.

So just wondering about situation in general?

Mule, white tail, moose and bears?

Any shooting ranges?

Thanks

I've been hunting quite a number of times in the Dawson Creek area.

It can be very, very good but much of the land available is privately owned though there are large expanses of public land as well. A little door knocking and asking around will help, as will getting involved locally with community events.

The people I've encountered up there are really great! Friendly, helpful, kind and generous are how I'd describe them. I'm currently living in Victoria, and I would not describe the majority of people living here with those words - the southern city people vs northern town and farming people are worlds apart as far my experience has been.

You'll love it up there if you can find ways to make the community work for you.

As for animals, there can be lots of Elk, Mule Deer, Moose and even black bears. I've not encountered that many Whitetails, but they are out there for sure and just a bit east I've encountered lots (in Alberta).

Yes, shooting ranges as others have mentioned already.

Enjoy! It's a wonderful area with lots going on in the outdoors.

On a different subject the Fort SJ Walmart has 270win ammo in stock for $15 a box Remington core locks. I bought a bunch today looks like only 30 boxes left now

i work up in dawson creek as well. i always come up this way to hunt elk and have gotten a 6 point every year all within a 5km radius. tons and tons of deer but like others have stated alot is private land. PS theres lots of white tails :) just gotta know where. moose hunting up here is also fairly good.
