I went out deer hunting, and I saw this wild blue grouse.

I couldn't get the guts to shoot it because it was wild and beautiful.

Would you guys have shot or stoned this wild grouse grouse....?

They are nice to look at but they taste even better!!

We saw a Blue at 6600' above the Coq. last Saturday, couldn't hunt it, but it was the biggest I've ever seen. Looked like a farm chicken in a blue coat!!

Pop his head off, shot a nice one opening day close to 3.4 or 4 pounds

Gee I wish that there were more of them around the W. Kootenays! They just aren't that prolific around here and can be hard to impossible to find consistently. Then when you do bump into them you're carrying a fishing rod or chainsaw.

My picture of the grouse would of been followed up with a shot from my gun or vice versa.

a blue you have to shoot usually at a fair distance target practice for your rifle headshot of course
a willow you pop with a 22
a spruce you stone
and a foolhen you club

Best tasting chicken fingers, or an evening snack around the campfire!

They are beautiful..... but delicious!

well i have to say to mr, grouse_ hunter, when you can walk away from something your out in the woods to get for dinner, your a great hunter, as next time you go there, may be more, and then you can shoot one or two, anyone can shoot the first thing they see, grouse, deer, moose, elk, but it takes a great hunter to admire the wild life and walk away, untell the next time,, don't get me wrong i like my grouse pan fried too, nice photo too..
