I totally agree. I spent a whole day there yesterday, I didn't see a doe in Pemberton Meadow.

Out of us 4 we were skunked, another buddy and his group got zero, we were all looking for elk. Saw some cows, some deer, some rabbit, some grouse were taken, saw two large bulls pushin each other around but way to far for us to hike to at 7pm.

I shot a nice whitetail with my bow opening day - but otherwise, I have never seen so little critter activity around here. I spent most of bow season without seeing so much as a doe most days.

the kootenays were really weird this year. no elk in fields most of the time. we got 2 deer. alot of deer bones in bush this year. half as many deer too..... was really weird. seen elk, but it was to late by then to shoot.:frown:

Heard from a buddy that other buddies of ours were coming back from their annual elk hunt with 3 bulls and I believe they were all archery bulls.:eek:

just got back from cranbrook this morning are group got 5 mulies the deer back there have gone some where hardly saw the numbers like we did the past few year seen a 5 point elk open morning of rifle so thats the way are luck was going

a friend of mine went back to where we were for a few days with a rifle and has seen alot more elk as opposed to a week or 2 ago..... also hardly any hunters......... boy thats a change....:frown::lol:

bow season got two whitetails, hit a cow elk in the lung for sure , but two days of searching could not find her Im sure the bears did unfortunatly, im still choked.partner missed a cow at 15 yards downhill ,figures he shot to high , was our first bow hunt and were hooked . We had a few other chances but had no more arrows .lesson # 1. bring enough arrows.

Who is the Guide Outfitter? I just came out from 2 weeks up there, they had 3 bulls down and thats it. Must be a different outfitter?

Hey Dino , Rather than bringing more arrows , perhaps a bit more practise is in order (First season - this happens to quite a few of us ).

Seen 4 bucks one 4 point in the group 2 does, coyote, 4 bears , a few grouse thats basically it , waiting for later in the year when the big boys come out to play.
