Ten days on the hoof - nearly 70km, came home empty handed but saw every game that BC has to offer in the north - moose, caribou, goats, grizz, 17 rams viewed, over 60 ewes and lambs. On day three we ran into a group of four from the vernon area, they had taken a sheep 2 inches above the nose and it was aged at six - seven years, we're talking fast growers. They also had a grizz , and a caribou. We met the early morning and I steered them to a grizz that I had seen the night before, nice bear I hope they got lucky, seemed like a good group.
All in all we saw 17 rams, one that was legal. We saw it late evening that night it started to snow for 3 days above 4500 feet. I couldn't find that ram any where after that. I have loaded some pics of the trip on -my gallery if you care to look. There is few of the sheep and scenery. I can't seem to load them in the text very well.

Sounds like a great trip. Tags definitley don't need to be cut to have a great sheep hunt. That's a good thing or most of us would stop doing it.

Nice pics!

I think all sheep hunters enjoy self inflicting pain. :D

Its so cliche, but thats why its hunting and not killing. Its getting out there that counts. You learn something every time.

Thanks for the pics - from the stories ive heard, I would call you very successful. Many hunters goto northern BC lookin for a dall and dont see any for several hunts.

Cheers

I Brought A Vegetarian Climber Buddy With Me He Was The One Who Took All The Great Pictures, He Was Armed With The Pentax And The Bear Spray. The Trip Gave Him A New Vision Of What Hunting Can Be About.

Lastly On The Topic Of The Hunt - I Found An Old Jacket 50% Decomposed. I Rooted Through The Pockets And Found A Little Booty 3 - .30 R Blaser Rws Cartridges They Appear To Be About 175 Grain. The Jacket Was A Euro Model Ski Jacket And There Was Also A Small Kleenex Package In Another Pocket All German Writing On The Label. It Would Appear That It Was Left By A German Client To The Local Outfitter Some Years Back. Anybody Want The Rounds???
