Hey all, I’m looking for a little clarity on how extensive the back country closures are that the government puts on a few regions when it’s forest fire season. Can you still drive forest service roads? Hiking in the back country? Use of atv? Or trucks?

Thanks and Merry Christmas!
I’ve never hunted in a area at a time when the ban was in place so I never read up on the rules when they were out.

It all depends on the ban, some times it is full bush closures other times it is certain activities on certain sections of land (ie. no off road vehicles). Many of the closures are also based on evacuation alerts and orders placed by the Regional District, so that again would be more inclusive than bans put on by the Wildfire Management Branch.
