as you almost arrive at your whitetail pocket rut is in full swing you see a large buck on a saunter..

you soon realize there is a predator on its heels..
you let out a fawn call they both stop for a secound..

which do you shoot.

The deer is going to taste a whole lot better than the wolf, so I'm thinking shoot the deer first.

Dog first every time. If the buck that rutted up I'll prolly get him too. Easier to find another opportunity at a deer than a wolf.

i would shoot a wolf first cause a deer may give you a chance after the first shot if it is in the rut but a wolf will not, besides if that wolf gets away he is not done killing.

What type of predator? Big difference as after shooting over a couple hundred coyotes, I wouldn't hesitate to shoot the big buck.

A big wolf or big tom cougar, maybe another story depending on the size of the buck!

Shoot the buck. You have all winter to go back and hunt predators. Or cover the gut pile with branches and come back the next day and hunt over it.
