Grouse Numbers in Region 3 and 8

At the last minute I've been given the rest of the week off and thought I would do some grouse hunting I was thinking about 8-12 or 8-14 but was wondering if anyone has any better ideas. I am meeting the girlfriend at the Quilchena Hotel on Thursday so even some suggestions closer to Meritt would be great. I will also pack the rifle with me but grouse are the main target. I appreciate any help you can offer.

well if u wanna hunt near merritt i suggest u dont go to 8-12 or 8-14....

boston bar area has lots of grouse

teal i have always had good success with grouse up danish lake road between merritt and logan lake...

I walked my dog twice a day for 10 days around Roche lake and never saw a grouse. Hope I can do better in reg. 5 in November.

Well I was out ALL day yesterday on some of the FSR's up on the Coquihalla yesterday (Region 3) looking for grouse and never saw a single bird.

Stopped and talked to a couple of fellow hunters and they had seen nothing either. It was cool in the morning but heated up to nearly 30 in the afternoon.
