trouble with new googlearth free version 4.12

I had to redo my computer due to a crappy virus and now am trying to get google earth back. It installs but then doesn't show the globe properly; either a circle with "space/stars" in it or all scrambled if I screw with the settings. Any ideas? I'd be happy with the old version as long as it worked.

try uninstalling it from your add/remove setting of your computer then reinstall again

i was excited i thought i had the problem solved for ya but then i realized u said verison 4.12 not 4.2...unless u missed typed that and u have version 4.2
