Road is gated at 0.5km.. I believe there is some more selective logging activity going on.

The Chilliwack Valley is getting logged pretty steady, and there are many granola crunchers out there. None too friendly I might add if you are seen hunting.

My buddy and I hiked that mtn from chilliwack lake rd. What a gruelling climb. Didn't see much sign, but the view was breathtaking. Was taking a look at the north side of ford mtn using google earth. Might be worthwhile checking out for early bucks. Good luck.

In my experience Ford mtn is at it hottest when the snow flys. I have taken two deer from there in last three years both with a foot of snow in the ground.
Try the south west side of Mcquire it has some great sub alpine hunting this time of year. you can access from top or by the backside( you may need a quad for this now) take a pack frame with you to get your animal out easier.
have fun the cascades are steep!!!!!!
