hahaha

I am a hobbiest photographer and I perfer to stay that way. I have a full time career and it ain't photography. I like paying my bills and having a roof over my head and food in my stomach. ;) I have no desire to become a starving photographer. I did my first ever Wildlife Calender (all BC birds) last Christmas for my mother in law. Now she expects one every year. That is as far as I am willing to go with it. :)

Nice pics ..... question for the sheep guys .... why do rams have such disproportionately large nut sacks compared to other game of similar size... like mule deer.

Had to go to town to do some shopping. I had a total of 2 hours from the time I dropped my wife off at the grocery store till the time I picked her up.

Amazing photos, don't think there's any better way you could have spent those 2 hours. What lens did you shoot those with?

These were shot with a Nikon P900 Coolpix with 83x optical zoom.

Do you live on a game farm? I don’t think there’s that many critters in the whole world!

Generally speaking in all mammals, the more direct competition there is between males for mates and the larger chances females will be bread by other males the larger the males of the species testes will be. Often times these females will get bread multiple times. There's a number of reasons and other adaptations but basically they have such big nuts to produce more sperm to compete against the other guys'. The more they're getting in there the higher the chances the offspring will be theirs. Natural selection.

Similarly, gorillas have a strong hierarchy with very little direct male competition for mates (although the betas will try and get some when the big man isn't watching) so they have tiny little nuts proportionate to body size - especially compared to the Rams.

So this explains why my nuts are the size of grapefruits...

hmmm .... but don't cows and horses have generally similar lives? In fact, i'd go as far as to say the bulls have even less competition as you generally have one single bull for a whole herd of cows .... Yet bulls have massive nutsacks and you can barely even see them on a horse.

I get it you’re just testing the waters unsure if you are ready to take the plunge or if it’s really your thing

I am no expert, but I would think that modern farms are nothing like the conditions that cattle and horses would have evolved in.
