Decided to upgrade my wall tent to something new and bit lighter. Ordered a blended Nylon/canvas 14x16 wall tent with porch from Capital Canvas.

Im going to go with a diesel heater from Deakin. Just curious to see how others like them. I am looking at the 12,000 btu trekker model. Wondering if its big enough.

Looking forward to the responses and feedback, thanks to all.

12,000 will be too small for that size of tent.

I have a Geo-Stove 19,000 btu diesel heater and it's just right for my 10x10. You'll want the 30,000, especially for late season use.

We have a 30,000 BTU for our ice fishing shack (24x12) and it works great, although it will cook us out if you go anything above low. 5 gallons will last 48 hours on low, which is all we ever need once we heat the shack up.

I am a bit concerned about the weight differential between the 12 and 30. I thought I saw a post from someone here that had the small one and it heated the 14x16 perfectly.

My experience with the trekker I would stay away from those..we had someone that brought it on a fly in for a 10×12 walltent ...he claimed it was amazing but his first time using it ...from get go it seemed finicky and didntt put out much heat while it was -10--15 and we went through 2 20g g cans in 12 days and only using at night before bed and early morning .
To me it didnt seem very efficient at all.
Now keep in mind person brought the stove isnt very saavy in the Bush and maybe didnt know how to dial in correctly.

Wow, first time using it and used it on a fly in for 12 days? Seems crazy reckless.
