We are planning a trip with the possible location of 5-15 October 22-28. Specifically staying at Crooked Lake Resort.
I see there is a closure on Eureka peak and on Crooked Lake far (south of Crooked Lake). Anybody ever been there? We are planning on doing a mostly cover ground and scout the area the first day. From there, try to focus on areas that seem good.
How is the deer population at that time of year?
What is the terrain like?
What can we expect with regards to the weather at that time of year?
Is there a good whitetail population?
Grouse?
Rabbits?
Just general info.

Srupp will know better than me and might have some spots to tell you, but to me that isn't a very good deer area.

Lots of bears, both black and grizz
The odd moose.
Pretty steep, thick, wet country

Lots of wolves out Black creek too.
