Ive never seen one in the wild, I would say "we dont have them here". Ive lived in 2-4 for 20 or more years.

They are around fluked into the odd pheasant duck hunting private land in chilliwack and Abby but have never seen enough to target them when I lived there

Andrewh you might get stuck buying farm raised(release) birds

Most fly shops should have some. Deliced and ready to go.

I've seen a couple at Deer Lake in Burnaby a few years back. My parents claim they are still around. Of course there is no hunting there.

Try fly fishing shops, they sell them for tying flies and are pretty cheap. I'm pretty sure Micheals also sells feathers.

I've seen them on the side of highway #99 between ladner trunk road and the #91 interchange on numerous occasions.

Those are club released birds we are building the resident population but the coyotes seem to be eating as many as we release...

Club birds don't tend to have the best feathers. Fly fishing shop or Michael's.

The plumage will be better near end or Season in November. If I can I may be able to help you .

Fuller capes longer feathers preparing for winter compared to beginning of the season. Specially the Rump patch used for tying Caryes
