I need some help. I am looking to buy a 20 year old browning 12ga autoloader, the old fellow selling is not sure what it is worth, and I am not sure what is considered a fair price. The owner said it has only seen two or three seasons of use on the prairies. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You may be better off to ask on Gunnutz, though I'm sure folks here will give an opinion.

It is an A-5 I assume?

Look up Dano on this site and send him a pm.

He's up on Browning values.

A lot of variables will dictate value. Is it an A5, B2000 or some other browning auto? What is the barrel length, choke, and does it have a vent rib? Is the gun a magnum model?
If it's an A5, get the serial# and I'll look up what year it was.
As for value, it can range anywhere from $300 and up to $600 (new in box for $750-850).
I know there's a guy on gunnutz right now with a light twelve Browning A5 with 28" full choke and vent rib barrel for $300. Nice looking gun and if I had the spare cash I would have it by now!

P.S. My A5 mag is the best gun I have used for hunting waterfowl, I paid a lot for it ($600), it was worth every penny!
