This is spreading like wildfire(pun intended).

Thought we were going to be ok with draws in 7-24, but looks like we will be in for some fun with the FN bands in the entire province!
Good grief...

And the regulatory authority to dictate to non-band members was granted by what court or recognized Canadian municipality, regional district, provincial, or federal government? None? I ban my neighbour from cutting his grass at 10 am, despite regulations set by my municipality and provincial government. Should we listen?

So, have we arrived at the tipping point?

I would suggest ALL confrontations be recorded on video.

I would also start the conversation stating they acknowledge that, "you are being recorded and this will be used in a court of law."

Kind of takes the enjoyment out of the hunt if confrontation happens.
I think we are leaning to just going and hope nothing goes sideways.
We all know how ugly road blockades have gotten before.
But I do agrees with many comments , I will not be told what to do by people who have given themselves self granted authority over decisions that are not theirs to make.
I also think there is a difference between FN reserve land and traditional hunting grounds.
Heck, all being equal, I too have rights to “My traditional hunting grounds”! Two can play that game.
I have two Management Units I have hunted for 41 years, sounds like a tradition to me!

I think what is going to happen, is happening, the economy and future of this province is in question.

It would be wise to think about whether BC is the place to retire or invest from elsewhere in Canada with the uncertainty of land claims, whereby hunting, owning property is going to be a real gamble in the near future.
Who wants to buy property that can be deemed "cultural" and can be claimed by some band, or who wants to come here to enjoy some of the specific hunting and fishing opportunities if you gotta go through this shyte, not to mention the uphill battles over pipelines making employment uncertain for our citizens.

We all know how ugly road blockades have gotten before.

I spoke with one of my very successful and seasoned hunting friends about this a few weeks ago. He and his buddies just go in and out past the roadblocks at around 3:00 or 4:00 am. Not too many vigilante fn road blockers at that hour. Most of them are feeling “Lucky” around that time...

I used to believe in this country - equality, respect, tolerance. This has gone too far and does not respect those values.

I will be taking my LEH and filling my tag this fall. I also have rights. I was born here, lived here and served this country.

We need a coordinated response to his nonsense. We all need to understand the laws and what these treaties really allow. And we need those pencil pushers to understand the values that the majority of this country hold. I'm not just talking about hunters - these are just regular people that don't their country torn apart.

Stand up for yourselves out there.
You deserve every right to legally hunt that FN do.

Hey folks, take some on board cameras along, like a go pro etc.
Document them obstructing your hunt should it happen.
Time to get serious and document "them" obstructing your right to a legal hunt.
Time to turn the tables!
Hopefully you won't need them, but, just in case.
Have done the same now for this coming season.

Dam. That is a great idea. Filming all the aspects, recoil, report of the gun, the quarry dropping, getting help from those manning the blockade to skin your moose. It would be just like being there will with you.

that's what I am planning to do as well.
that being said, while driving in, it will be mounted to dash etc.
new go pro 5, you can get 15 hours of recording if you want (on low settings however).
