Some buddies and I are looking at doing an elk hunting trip. What type of trip should we plan? We live in the interior of BC. Willing to put the effort in to have an epic trip.

The classic Elk Hunt is done on Horseback w/pack animals and a wall tent camp! :)
Really though, the bottom line is that all Elk Hunts are epic in and of themselves, a phenomenal endeavour indeed.

Horseback can get you into some extremely remote country - country where possibly not many have been to, so it may make for a legendary hunting trail/game field. Be prepared to look after your horses. Good luck!

Use Steamboat Mnt. Outfitters. Packers not Guides. Good outfit, great country.
horse back trip into northern Rockies. Sure it costs some bucks but worth every bit. You could even get a Ram or a Bou or Moose.
Likely run ya 350 or more a day ....... Not sure of up to date costs.
Worth every bit of it.

Thank you for input. Was leaning towards jet boat hunt. But now will look more into horse back hunt.
I did think there would be more opinions ��

Horse back. Only want to get into the extreme alpine to find the bulls worth shooting. Where I go, i always see and shoot a 6x6 just where the high alpine turns into tundra.

A few thousand is probably is where my budget is. Out this weekend checking out Christina lake ����
