Hi there!

Very excited to have a whole week off work and heading out camping/scouting. Half for fun, half scouting for the fall hunt...

Going to do a couple nights at Gustafsen lake , then from there probably head north towards williams lake - and maybe east from there towards horsefly. Little fishing, run some roads on the quads and also hoping to find some ranges or country that might hold nice deer in the fall.

*not* looking for your honey holes - but if anyone has recommendations of some places , roads or areas to poke around that would be really great. Doing some "google earth recon" but nothing like a local experience..

Cheers,

I would head west to the chilcotin, maybe get to bella coola. Go to chilco and tatlayoko lakes. Farwell canyon country is awesome.

Wow tatlayoko lake looks amazing, thanks for the tip if we start cruising further west we'll definitely hit that one...

Road is washed out at Lee's corner so you won't get too far into the chilcotin for a little bit

Mosquitoes are awful this year...you may see some wild horses out gustafsen but it's a dead zone for game imo. The odd deer if your lucky. Road is very well beaten out there. No more fire at least as it looks like it's out.

Thats exactly my thoughts on how busy it looks with that highway of a FSR, we saw 2 bucks - 1 4 pointer and one 2. Female moose and a lot of does. But much too busy, so we are going to head east now and start exploring northeast of Canim lake. Thanks!

There's a lot of wolves between gusafson and dog creek, in the dog creek valley. Primarily between the convergence of pidgeon creek into dog creek and Gustafson.

road has never been more than single lane trffic while debris was cleaned off surface, Friend was in WL a couple days ago and said both lanes are open.
