If she has Metis blood from her ancestors, relatives, actual bloodline, she can get her own number in Ottawa now, the law has changed to let blood lines continue on dispite the history of half breed being the minimum or maximum to allow, then went quarter, now if you have a computer and know how to use it, your wife can apply and get it.
Jel -- I know a person that had the law changed to blood line continuing not how much percentage -- just have to know the codes to use on the computer.

That sucks. I seem to manage to get a moose draw every five to seven years, I generally apply for the same area every year unless I know I won’t be able to go, then I apply behind the house where the odds are worse. My wife seems to have better luck than me, she’s been getting them about every four years. Took me close to twenty years to get my first bison draw, but then I drew another two years later. I seem to manage enough elk, deer and such to keep things interesting. Although I’ve never gotten a spring griz draw, but I always put in for areas that were convenient, not necessarily conducive to getting drawn

There are no enhanced odds for new entrants. Every applicant is equal. Only reduced odds for moose/elk draw winners in following years.

2:1 are odds for last year. Everyone probably saw those low odds and applied there this year and the actual odds are probably closer to 5:1 or a 20% chance of getting drawn.

Too many hunters focus on LEH success to dictate there hunting. A lot easier to focus on gos and only apply for hunts that are truly beneficial and not except to be drawn

Got our shared hunt for moose. Wondering why we put in with 4 in our group and only got one authorization between the four of us

That means when your group was drawn there was only 1 authorization remaining and the rest had been allocated already. The same thing happened to 4 of us with bison a few years ago, we shot a nice bull and it was his buddy right beside him's lucky day!

This whole leh on the computer system now so each person must get themselves in line with application process once and for all, then ready for all seasons.
Dads and moms and friends helping their young hunters to get on line process started and their codes and numbers established in the beginning --

Holy cow! So were supposed to be a group of 4 for moose in 5-12B. Me, two buddies, and dad. Well, someone (he blames the cabelas counter guy), screwed up and didn't put him on the group.
So when I saw moose as successful, I called all 3 and gave them the good news.
Then I looked at the actual authorization, and dad's name wasn't on it.
That was a shitty phone call to make.

He couldn't figure out how to log in at home, so he went to the service BC office today.

He got drawn for moose solo.
So we have 3 moose and a caribou between 4 of us now!

Now....we just have to connect.

Both our groups got drawn for Bull moose in Bear Lake( 4 bulls).Daughter got a mulie doe in 3-13 as well.

Partial blame to the guy who started the group and didnt check before the deal line and say, "hey Dad, your not in our group"

Best at odds I saw in 8-12 are 34:1, so if that’s where you always apply, you’re way ahead of the curve....

Got group Bison in Zone B. second year applying for Bison, second successful draw...We shot 2 Bison in January of 2016, going for a repeat in 2019.

Also got Goat draw in 4-22E...any suggestions for that area? I've never been to the Kooteneys, but have a buddy that has hunted it extensively...however any pointers would be appreciated.
