Checked some trail cams this past weekend that I hadn't checked since November and was pleasantly surprised to get footage of this guy during the rut last year:

And he seemed to stick around for about 2.5 weeks:

Sure hoping he survived the winter and that some day I will get a horseshoe up my ass and catch him in daylight

Also found the biggest set of whitetail sheds I've ever come across 6X7 with huge mass (no drop tines though) about 2km as the crow flies from this spot.

Any guesses as to how old this guy might be and what he might score?

That deer is an absolute beauty. I’d say your already a winner getting him on camera

Beauty buck, he's out smarted a lot of hunters and preds.....I'm gonna take a wild guess, and say 155, not the longest of tines, but lots of them...

Hmmm, maybe not as old as some may think. Doesn't look like much mass on the main beams and they don't go past the ears, nice brows, but shortish on the rest. Great character though. Love the double drop tines. Methinks he'll be even nicer this year. I'll say high 160's and 4.5 year old.

No clue on scoring antlers, but he's a beauty. I'd guess that's his 5th hunting season eluding press. Awesome character, thanks for sharing and good luck catching up with him!

Beautiful deer, would guess him not to be an old timer, 5 1/2 at the oldest. Looks like about a 155 inch frame plus the junk, somewhere in the 170s gross. IMO
Best trim the sticks away to get un impeded pics. What region is that, the peace?
You got a good spot there, seems like there is usually multiple big bucks in those kind of spots. How about a shed pic? Good luck on the hunt.

Thanks for all your estimates and feedback! Ya I was thinking 4.5 - 5.5 yrs old but had no clue as to the score. I told the wife that if she happens to come home during the last 2 weeks of November and can't find me, she'll know exactly where I'll be.

Here's a few photos of the sheds I found about 1km-2km away from where this buck on camera was.

I always wonder what animals like to chew on antlers? Wolves or coyotes was what I'm guessing - anybody know what animals like to chew on antlers?

I don't see any drop tines on those sheds .... so I doubt those are related to that buck , mice and other rodents chew on antlers

You bet I know these are from a different deer. Interesting that mice and rodents eat them. Thanks for letting me know

That deer is definitely scoring higher than 150’s gross. He got somewhere around 20 inches of extras. I figure he’s around 5.5 years old. Cool buck for sure and looks like he could definitely grow! The country I hunt most of the deer don’t get much bigger than that even if they hit 6+ years of age.
