elk Hunting near Golden

I'm heading out to Golden this wknd with my bow, Never hunted around there and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions were to go. We will be staying in the blaeberry area MU 4-36 if any one has any suggestions let me know. I'll be taking my buggle with me though so Im gunna see what happens.

Hunted that drainage for years, until the elk were gone. The little bull season and the old burn growing into mature timber, pretty much took care of the good hunting. Not trying to discourage you at all, but my hunting partner and I quit going after 4 years with no elk 94-97. The 6 years previous, all yeilded at least one elk per season. You can PM me if you want some areas to check out, I have covered hundreds of miles in that valley with tent and backpack, on our 10 day annual hunts.

Hunt the Columbia river flats--around town.Drift in canoe or boat. Elk are in amongst the muskrats flats and slews can be spotted from highway one. Just be sure of private land and access restrictions.
