Hey I was told by a friend that the road has been more or less washed out by a rock slide this last winter and even with a quad it’s impassable. Does anyone know if the province or maybe the HBC trail people will repair the road? Or will it stay closed till a logging company reopens it when they log again eventually?

Thanks for the info!

Have a buddy who went back there this past Monday. Able to get past the rock slide with motor bikes and atv's. Can't fit a SxS between the bolders in the slide area.

How many km back is the slide?

That's always been a volatile hillside. Made me nervous crossing it in good conditions.

Doesn't it happen every year there? In 2016 came to the slide and an excavator rebuilding the road.
Came back a week later and drove the entire length of the FSR in my dads 1998 Ford Escort cause i didn't want to pay for day insurance on the jeep.

They dug cross ditches since then on the first hill when you head up from the highway, so not really car accessible anymore.

I went up to the very end on the 2nd of June on the RZR. Would not even consider taking my Tundra up there. It is pretty hairy now. Wasn’t like that last spring. The first wash out isn’t too bad but the second section is pretty nasty. We did see a couple of Jeeps up there but they both had big tires with lifts.

Lol or nobody wants to say ;) Could be a sign that it is accessible. Take a rip up and let us know. If we don't hear back then we know for sure it is accessible... or a samquatch is eating everyone

Lots of bear hunters in there.
But theres easier places to hunt if you are looking for bucks.

I was up through there a few weeks ago (went out 19/20kms in a Tacoma with no issues.) It was a bit hairy but passable until then. I would not want to be in that area during or after a heavy rain. All through km 2 ->13 many of the banks above the road looked ready to give with nasty looking boulders already precariously hanging out of the dirt. I won't be back there this season - sketched me out too much driving that road. I did come across a 6pt bull elk in there that same day, while I was questioning my life choices, hiking up through the timber though! Got within 80 yards of the thing. Too bad there is no season for them.
