If you could choose any MU in region 8 for bow opener, which would it be?

I've only hunted 8-5 during the bow opener, 2 years ago Whipsaw was nice and quiet and I had my chances. We (my 9 year old son and I) went last year to the same area and I've never seen so many hunters in all my life - we'll never go there again.

I've hunted other areas in region 8 during the general open seasons including Beaverdell, Champion Creek, and Tulameen area to name a few. If you had to hunt one of these areas for the bow opener, where'd you go?

Thanks for the suggestions. Bow opener is my favourite weekend of the year.

Spending quality time with my son is my primary reason for going. I love his enthusiasm for hunting, he'll whine about pretty much everything at home but has no qualms with lugging a small pack up to 15km, or about the freezing temperatures at night if he's with me out in the bush.

I'd take a look at the Nevertouch fire map here:

Looks like the whole campsite and all around the lake is burnt. It's a shame, it was a nice spot.

Anywhere in 8-14 or 8-12 should be good for the early bow/youth seasons. There's lots of deer around that country. Good luck!

The deer are really starting to move in the Rock Creek area. The cool nights and that are getting things going.

Apparently the fire at Nevertouch burnt very hot. Not much left of the campsite, but some time remains along the lake. Even the island burnt up.
