I've been hankering after a finlight but I keep hearing that they have ejection problems... they eject the shell up into the scope or something... Was that problem fixed or still an issue?

I would PM GEF and get his insight on the issue.

It depends on the scope and how low you mount it.

I have 2 and never had a problem..... but I am only one person. To be honest, I've never heard of that until now.

I have 2 as well. Have not had any issues with ejection or anything else.

One has a SWFA 6X on it , it has a 30mm tube and large turrets, again no issues.

One in medium Leupold ring mounts, the other in Sako ring mounts.

The only issue ive had after about 400 rounds was that the empty shells were not being ejected properly. What i found was that the bolt was gummed up from the cleaner I was using but good as new after cleaning it.

Its more common with the WSM's, but can show up with almost any chambering.

I have a 7mm rem mag and 300 win mag and no issues, highly recommend the Sako Finnlight.

I own 3.

243 Win brown laminate leupold vx3 40mm
270 wsm grey laminate Swarovski z5 BT
7mm RM carbon Swarovski z5 BT

All use sako oprilock ring mount not the two piece mounts and I have had no issues what so ever. Yes I’m aware of the ejection issues but I have had none and all three rifles shoot lights out.

I have a 300WSM, never an issue.

It was a major issue with the A7's not finnlight as far as I know.

Great rifle BTW

Finnlight 75 bedded in a Mcmillan stock and a Zeiss z800 4.5 x 14 scope, they shoot well.

Don't mind the flier, bonehead with a muzzlebreak next to me.

7 Rem Mag.. with Swaro Z6 30mm tube
no problems so far but only have 3 boxes through it.
My problem is I might have to get the L.O.P. shortened..
Local gunsmith said it would be cheaper to buy a new stock.

I have 2 sako 85 both have ejection issues with the leupold Vx5. Nut no issues with the vx3

Are the issues being referenced the result of the ejection angle and the brass contacting the scope? I have used a Zeiss HD5 3-15, Varix-3 3.5-10, and a swaro z5 and not had any issues at all. My first Finnlight shot a .5" group with factory ammo on my first trip to the range with it, shots 3-6 respectively. I fell in love at that point. I have never had a single fail to eject issue with any of my 4 Sako rifles over 15 years of ownership.

Hey Bill,

Neither the 7-08 topped with the optilock rings and a swaro z3 or the .375 H&H kodiak with opti's and a Zeiss Victory have any issues. If you're looking for new go talk to Omer at Precision. :)

I had a 7mm rem mag that wouldn’t eject very forcefully and found it hitting my scope. Had a new extracted installed if I remember right and still had the same issue. Ended up putting on a medium ring instead of low mount. Still didn’t eject right. Then the stock finish pealed and it got traded in for something else. Was a nice light rifle that shot though, just wouldn’t eject

It’s a problem only with the 375hh. That’s what I found. I could not run a leupold 2.5-8 on my sako Kodiak. My fierce had the same problem with it and it’s a 300 rum. Had to send it back and I got a new one.
my buddy has a 300 wsm and it doesn’t have this problem.

I have a Finnlight 75 in 270 Win. I have the Sako optilocks on it with a ''bulky'' Zeiss Conquest 3-9 on it. No problems.

I did encounter issues with a Sako A7 7mm-08 using the Burris (??? not so sure of this one) low mounts it came with. That was the first generation of A7 coming with a package including a Burris Fullfield. I put a Vortex Viper 2-7, and the empty shells could not eject well as they kept hitting the side turret. This got fixed with the purchase of a Redfield Revolution 2-7 as these turrets are much shorter on them.

... I was stuck with the Burris Fullfield unused scope, I had no choice but to get a new rifle to go with it!

my brother has had like 6 of them in different calibers. In standard and deluxe models he never had any issues that he spoke of.

I have 2 Sako 85s, a Finnlight in .30-06 and a Kodiak in .338WM. Never had any issues with either of them... I wouldn't hesitate to get another...

Mine is a 30-06 had it for last 4 years or so. It's been topped with a Zeiss Conquest and a VX3i. Never an issue and nothing but great things to say about it!
