not really a dumb question.

my understanding is....if your friend is 10-14 years old then his mom can buy him a junior licence and he can hunt on her tags. If he is older than 14 then he must get his own license/tags...ie core program.

if i'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me

If he's 13 then all he needs is a Jr. Hunting Licence and he can hunt with his mom during the Jr. Season and regular season. A Jr. Hunting Licence is only $7.

"A Junior Hunting Licence can only be issued to a parent or guardian on behalf of his/her child or ward who is 10 years of age or older and under the age of 14. The junior hunter need not have completed a hunter training program but must be accompanied and under close personal supervision of an adult who carries the proper licences. Wildlife taken by the junior under this licence is included in the bag limit of the licenced adult."

I went digging in the regs (briefly) but couldn't find much on it. Age 13, he IS a youth - No doubt about that... But the particulars of shhooting on momma's tags eludes me.

I'll try harder!

If you are under 19 and accompanied by an adult, you are a youth, so go nuts! ( So long as he has his Jr or license etc)
