You know Jelvis, I think you should take up writing stories for a living. True stories mind you, nothing else....or is that what you're already into?

You no Jelvis ,you should be a magazine outdoor writer ,just think if you did this you could hunt any wear and then wight up the hunt as well as advertise for the company for the product they sell ,just like Jim zombo.http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/images/icons/icon10.gif.

who is this fictional character louis? your imaginary friend or are you just writing your own thoughts to someone elses name in order to gain credibility?

Looky Louis

Ya I'm not sure who or how the character is either. Sort of an alter ego.

However, I sure do enjoy the stories. He seems to know about the high country and where the animals are.

To be honest, I actually wish I had an older friend or relative who had extensive hunting experience to pass along. It would be cool to sit around the fire with a glass of Crown Royal to sip on, and listen to the wisdom of a wise old hunter.

But at any rate, keep the stories coming Jelvis:biggrin:

Keep them guessing. The mystery of Looky Louis is what keeps us wanting more.
Maybe there should be a book?
I know I for one would buy a copy.
Keep it coming Jel.

Hmmm Looky talks all about the East Kootenays...doesn't he think the hunting in better in the West Kootenays?

Dude the Elk hunting is better in the West Kootenays but the Elk Shooting is better in the East Kootenays, all depends what you want to do, hunt or shoot:mrgreen:.

I'll give you a subtle hint - - -take a coule canoes and a week off and drift down/hunt the moberly and into the peace. There are a couple of log jams so you can't take a boat through the upper Moberly. The portages aren't very long.

Be prepared for some action!

this would only work in a year of high water! This year might be one of em, but last year you could run a quad up and down the moberly, (not that I did)
It would be a nice way to hunt that country for sure, just need a drop off and pick up buddy!

I have gotten feedback that the water is low for this time of the year, seems weird as they've gotten so much rain as of late??

Lussier had a lot of bulls bugling early season last year, called in several bulls but they just didn't provide a good shot with the stick and string....heading there for bow season in a week!8-)

Well having lived ( yes lived ) in the Flathead for a couple years I would not waste the gas to go down there with out horses. The big boys 350 + live right in the corner of the province (mmm Sage crk and Kishinena). Know of a few guys who get some down there every once in awhile but not on any regular basis. Gold creek is VERY good however there is alot of people. Another good spot is the wildhorse just out of cranbrook (don't care for the guide in there so I always recomend that area and it is also VERY good). You may be wondering where my best spot is where I got a 330 6x7 a few years ago, well about 1 1/2 hours from Cranbrook so that narrows it down for you I guess. I will be in there this year again looking for the bull we say after i got mine, way bigger. Good Luck

I just bought property in Skookumchuck, 240 acres surounded by ELK....I saw a nice whitetail the other day in the hay field. As a side note I also bought the skookumchuck Motel. We are going to be renovating it to make it a lot nicer.
