Hmmm can't help you draw a tag, however if you want some suggestions on region 5..those that hold moose ..when...areas that might have less competition for those prized tags..areas d still have good moose numbers...would like to see you draw that tag and harvest a moose.
I would recomend having a plan B...there are a ton of great Lakes in northern BC..that hold lots of moose..most I seen was 40 moose from the shore..we could have harvested 4 easy..but flights would have been $$$$$.
Anything I can do to help ? Send Pm with ph number I will call on my dime.
Cheers

If you want a fly in moose hunt, have several truly spectacular lakes with lots of moose..great idea to spoil your Dad.
Last year recomend ed a fly in lake for guy and his Dad, first day Dad gets a great bull moose..the other little lake we chatted about because of the BIG bull moose..he got a truly monster bull moose..Boone and Crockett quality...
The bull moose hunt IMO is the easiest hunt in BC..and no shortage of lakes and opportunities.

Probably due to the fires?

bigben.......Do you only hunt moose if you get an LEH draw?...The reason I ask cause there is good moose hunting if you want to go north..General open season..Are you only able to hunt lower BC ?..The Peace River country has good moose..The Fort Nelson area has good moose ..The Liard River area has good moose..East of Fort Nelson lots of moose .North of Fort Nelson up the 77 hwy has good moose..The Smith river area has good moose ..Hilgren lakes has good moose..Floating the Liard river has good moose..Hopefully this gives you some choices..Fly in"s to lakes out west of Dease and east of Dease lake are all great options ..Good luck ..Forget LEH...After 29 years hope you learn..Dennis

Took me 21 years to get my first moose draw. I'd like to say I know the feeling but 29 is really bad!

Draw aren't out yet for this year

The season for moose should be completely closed WEST OF THE FRASER RIVER .imo.

Pretty screwed up that for every $32 only $7 goes towards habitat..game..the rest $25 goes towards general revenue..pretty hard to establish grizzly habitat, moose numbers when you use monies contributed by hunters and the vast majority of money needed goes towards general revenue..

Still too early to know results of the fires....plenty of moose east if Fraser river..
But shut it down for EVERYONE..and they can do it for conservation concerns.
Doubt they have the balls.

Wow!! 29 years with no moose leh?? That's criminal when you consider how many of those tags go to guides. At least there are still some GOS opportunities for a moose hunt left. For a short while anyway.

One has to wonder where you are putting in for that 21 and 29 years are possible...... i have been hunting 29 years and been drawn lots... but i put in for draws with decen odds

Even if they did have the balls to shut it down for everyone.....certain segments of the population will ignore the moratorium as they know full well, they are immune to prosecution

Your right 835. High odds hunt are highly difficult to get. I know many folks who put in for medium to high odd hunts and have never got them. But some folks for many legitimate reasons can’t get to low odd hunt locations.

Wow 29 years. You are either putting in for the MU that is only a mile from your house? or low numbers of moose with very high odds? Or you are forgetting to mail the card? Or you are the worlds unluckiest moose hunter. After 29 years I suggest a change somewhere. Good luck in year 30.

Still too early to know the results of the fires? You mean the abundance of habitat they created that was so badly needed?
What is shutting things down going to achieve?

Well said. We need to fight for what we have left in this province for hunting. Lose it, good luck getting it back. Moose will thrive along with deer in the fire areas.

4point..
I totally understand that... sorta lol..
But i do leave the island and drive for a day to go get a moose... so,,, its not such a big deal to me..

I think it is different people put different priority to hunting... and to different animals...

I have a buddy that hunts a fair bit on pest deer permits here... and has no real interest in the interior... it kinda blows me away a bit.. to each their own all but.. vince is a bit of a hunting nut and it just eludes me as to why he has never pyshed for a moose...

If a hunt is shut down for conservation reasons nobody is immune from prosecution.
