there usually is, but can't say for certain where they are right now.
But, generally anywhere close to the edge top of the main plateau is always a good place to start.
Not sure about the snow levels up there etc.
And because there was so much logging over the years, snow drifts up on those roads is common, and making them impassable for most.
Anyone of the fsr's that lead from the highways up to the main plateau is always a good start.
Heck, they could be anywhere, even just on the north end of Kamloops lake from Cache creek east etc.
Have fun.

Hhmm, would it be legal to search for them with a drone, then hunt them 6 hours later?

Do I see a loop hole here?

its pretty simple up there right now, find an area thats not burnt that holds some deer and you'll likely find some wolves......thats of course if theres any deer left !

Wolf wood like deer for sure but do prefer moose meat.
Wolf hunt in packs or two or three together
Moose are big too except a calf and mule deer buck can get strong and fight back a bit

Inlaws just bought the place there so this will be first trip. Could possibly make it a regular trip and learn their patterns.

I have been predator hunting around Pressy and Young lake area for the past 3 weekends via snowmobile.
Three weeks ago there were moose everywhere. On one day I saw 5 cow calf pairs. On that outing I saw zero wolf tracks and a few coyote and cat tracks. Last weekend all I saw were wolf tracks running roads and no moose tracks.
I am headed back up today and will report back on monday.
Normally all the deer migrate south and west so wondering what others are seeing down by Loon Lake and Big Bar.

Short Answer, No. Long Answer, there is no indication of time between photographing wildlife and then pursuing them. I would still say it is a no.

Wasn’t out that way this year, but usually frequent Scottie Creek. Have seen tons of wolf sign in there, all the way east to Hihium Lake. Wolves are pretty much everywhere now.

Buddy shot 2 wolves near Hihium this past October, had a pack of 6 walking towards him. Waited till they were at about 60yrds and started shooting. Got 2 before they figured out where the shots were coming from. Wind was in his favour. Explains why he didn't see a deer that day.

A buddy was walking across bonaparte lake a few years ago and had two wolves run right at him, also atleast two other ones sitting on point on shore waiting. He through up his arms and started yelling and they took off.
