Feedin Time

Came across this scene a couple years ago and was able to snap this photo. Eagles struggle during the winter. I think it is time we start a feeding program. ;)

I agree...that's the best kind of eagle food. Rather unusual to see that.
I'm not that mobile now-a-days, but every winter about this time or a bit earlier,
I used to boat along the Harrison, Stave River and their backwaters with a long
grapple pole and full up the old spawners to leave them so the eagles could feed
off them....as you say, this time of year it's pretty slim pickings for them.
