I've only done one and won't do another again. It's way too much of a pain in the a$$ if you want it to be 100% free of meat in every nook and cranny inside the skull. Pulling out the sinuses, the brain etc way too time consuming to be honest.
The whitening part is not too bad, but the cleaning was time consuming and pressure washing also made a huge mess with bits of meat everywhere that I had to then go sweep up and pick up. F*** that.

This my first euro mount attempt. I'm pretty happy with it. A friend of my has a piece of black walnut that I plan to mount it on.

Ive got meat dried on to the first one I did, you can only smell it if you get real close lol, Ive got another one to do from this year that I'll do a better job on. For the pressure washing I went to the car wash lol.

Some good work here guys! Here’s this years, notice I managed to keep the nasal bones intact!? Note; I haven’t used peroxide on this yet either. This is literally 10 min out of degreasing. All done in 2.5 hrs 👍

I peroxide the skull and teeth plus clean the teeth will so they're nice and white too. Pressure washer in the driveway.........the birds eat well for a couple of days!!

Goretsky, What did you do to treat the velvet? I hear that you're supposed to inject formaldehyde into the veins under the velvet to flush out the blood and prevent it from rotting, but honestly, who has formaldehyde? Curious if you used something else .... like maybe rubbing alcohol?

Harry, you need to touch up the bases that you bleached. Did you not wrap them up before submerging the skull or did it just leak through? A brown wood stain and a Qtip can work well for this as long as you apply it in moderation.

Did some reading on the internet before I did it, split the tips of the tines with a knife, hung it upside down for a day, supposed to drain the blood (although none came out), rubbed it with some borax and stuck it in the freezer for 2 weeks. Then I boiled the skull and put it in front of the wood stove for a week to dry out. Been 6 years and no issues.
