Thanks. Pretty sure he did a black bear for me years ago, so I’ll give him a call.

Nothing crazy, just had a nice shoot this morning and mixed in with the American Widgeon were some Eurasian Widgeon. Thinking of maybe doing 1 of each drake.

Euros are definitely trophies if you get a prime one. IF you are doing them as a flying mount leave a space for a third so you can mount a storm with them. I have a American and euro in a puddleduck dead mount that looks pretty good.

X2 on Rick Gander, he's done 3 ducks for me, a Woody drake, a mature Pintail drake and a Greenwing drake that he did a great job on. Something that you have to remember with getting ducks done is their more expensive because they have to get all the fat off the skin and take more time.

If you are looking for a top quality job go for one of the guys mentioned above. I looked at getting a pintail done a couple of seasons back but couldn't justify the cost at the time. If you can accept a lower quality I believe the guy at the shoe repair store next to Stillwater Sports in ladner will do them at a much more reasonable price.

Anyone willing to comment on an approximate cost? I've thought about having a grouse done.

I don't know how much a grouse would cost but it would probably be 1/3 -1/2 the cost of a duck.

Ganders was 500$ when I checked a couple of years back.
