I sold my last bunch was lot bigger than what you see in this picture I got over two grand for my last pile I sold two years ago my plans are to not sell anymore because I am getting up in age and it will be nice to just look at the pile when I can't get out there and do what I love to do and that's shed hunting..

I did the same with some of my moose sheds and now I wish I hadn't. Hope you can get out and find more this year. They are nice to hold onto and look at or make something out of.

I've never seen a shed, mind you we've not been looking for that many years.

Any tips for us who are new to this?

When to look, any specific types of areas that seem better than others, simple luck?

You have to find where the deer spend their winter. Ex. You will find deer up in the alpine but you'll never find a shed there.

Then you have to go shed hunting at the right time before rodents loggers and other shed hunters get to them.

I've been wanting to get into it too but I always end up steelhead fishing right through the winter and spring instead.

Very true. Even I've noticed an incredible decline and I've only been fishing for them since the early 2000s. Can't imagine how it must feel for those that were used to catching 10 a day in the 80s.

But, nonetheless, I still manage a few here and there :)

Wow that's awesome. I would like to have so many antlers so I can make one of those fancy chandeliers you see in some cabins.

My tip on shed hunting is first off you have to find where the male animals winter you find this and you will find there antler sheds secont is look for them like you are looking for your lost wallet or ring always turning your head 360 to look go slow look hard..

Its all about honey holes and very little competition for big finds.

A person has to find an area where there are very few humans hunting for sheds and good number of wintering animals within the area to find big numbers of cast antlers..
