Was thinking of going up Whipsaw this weekend to try and get a buck before the season ends. One question I have is if there is not much snow do the bucks go back up higher in the mountains? Or are they still going to be hangin lower down with the does because of the second estrus?

Just a little frustrating when you go through town and see all the "townies" and then go in the bush where it's legal to hunt and see nothing.

Or would it be a better idea to try and find property owners in a rural setting (in an area where it's legal to hunt of course) and see if they would like someone to "thin" the herd by one buck?

Thanks in advance for any advice

You’ll find the deer where ever they are. Probably snow, find the tracks, find the deer. I personally don’t usually make myself hunt, low or hunt high. Just get out there and find some deer. I think anywhere up whip saw will have deer right now

Lots of does up high too, the idea the bucks have to move to get a rut is a myth

imho

Be careful up there. Just got back, and found Whipsaw and many side roads off of the #3 to be solid ice.

Thanks for all the tips everyone, and for the heads up on the ice warning.

Be safe to all who venture out this weekend.

Any recent off road condition reports? Looks like I can make it out for Friday. Thanks.
