BCWF Remembers- Rich Peterson
https://bcwf.thankyou4caring.org/image/rich.jpg
It is considerable regret that we pass on the sad news that Rich Petersen passed away after a battle with cancer.
Rich’s forceful and effective advocacy for fish, wildlife and resident hunters started in the mid 1970’s as a founding member of a Fort St. John based group called Resident Action for Mountain Sheep (RAMS).
Rich was the president of the North Peace Rod and Gun Club multiple times and was vice president of the BC Wildlife Federation under Carmen Purdy’s presidency.
Together they fought for resident priority in the early days of allocation while keeping the best interests of fish and wildlife, and their habitats in the forefront. Rich’s friendship and mentorship within the BCWF community will be greatly missed.
Rich was a leader in wildlife conservation and he will be missed.
Unfortunately yesterday, November 29- His beloved wife Wanda passed away- They are together once again.
The BCWF offers its sincere condolences to the Petersen family in this time of grief.
