I have a question about some ammunition I may be interested in buying through a friend of a friend. I guess there is 1000 rounds of this ammo sounded to me like 7.62 by 39. The guy brought a round to work today to show me and at first it appeared to be a 7.62 by 39 upon getting it home.. and comparing it to some other rounds I had it was quite a bit lager then my 7.62 by 39 that I had at home it appears to b a military round the guy I work with said his buddy thinks they are .308. The only marking on this round is C J 96?? I'm pretty sure from my googling it's a chinise norinco round but Im not sure on the caliber

Throw a caliper on it and measure it.

Is it FMJ?
Sounds like it's probably 7.62x51 NATO stuff.

if the casing is 51mm long it's likely 308 Winchester
