Had a good feeling when I left the house. I was going to give it all that I had. Most days I don't see shit but I know if I give it an honest effort it will all come together eventually. Spent the morning wet and cold making my way through the timber.
Found a bedded doe and noticed she would look at me and then behind her. The wind was blowing right and there was no rush to get anywhere fast. We hung out for a bit, I rattled and tipped the can call, she didn't seem too concerned with my presence. Couldn't see behind her from my spot so I made my way over to where I could.
Saw a deer standing up, the doe was bedded down. Saw a flash of antlers and my heart was beating out of my chest. My whole life has been building up to this moment right here (no joke) I didn't want to **** it up.
He knew I was there but I don't think he knew what I was, I sat down and didn't make eye contact. We were close but he wasn't spooked. He looked away, I tipped the can call and he started coming towards me in a hurry.
One shot and he went down on the spot. I am so thankful for the opportunity. For all you guys chasing blacktails out there, I know the struggle, keep going, its worth it.

I Still think blacktails are the toughest deer to hunt cause of the ugly stuff they choose to live in.Beauty buck!

you should.. 500$ set up cost if you buy used.... 3.60$ a 6pack .. cheaper if you go all grain.. I partial mash... stay out of the "you brew" stuff.. brew in house by building your own wart..
"Brew smith" is a cheap software that lets you use recipe's and create new ones... I have 15gallons Imperial IPA which should touch 8% and 15g of a pale ale going to bottle tonight.. easy math is 6$ a gallon for both of these.

still a nice buck!

I agree with that comment big time ... hunting deer in their own space is the only way IMHO!

Good for you.
