lLEH shared hunt question moose

My buddies and I have a shared hunt in region 8, my buddies left 3 days before I could get away to join them, they got a bull moose right away, filled all the correct paper work out to make sure each hunter had filled the paper work to make sure all parties are aware of the kill , my question is did I have to purchase a moose tag when everyone else did or can I purchase one before leaving to join the hunt? I looked in Regs and could not find anything.

You don't have to purchase a moose tag until you start hunting period!

As said above. If you don't go out at all, no tag needed
