How far do all you guys regularily go to hunt? About the farthest I have travelled to hunt has been about 6 hours driving. Typically I travel less than an hour by vehicle to my hunting grounds. Now I realize that people who live in Region 1 or 2 might have to travel farther to hunt many species. When you travel long distances is it like an expedition? Multiple vehicles, generator, freezers, etc? Or is it pretty casual? I have driven into new areas, reclined my seat, slept til morning, got out wherever I was and started scouting around.

Each year we travel aprox 22 hours north by road and then another 4 hours by river, we stay for a month in tents and come out once to take our meat into the butchar to process and frezze. No generators just camp fire and little LED headlamps.

Will be 2.5 from Courtenay to Vancouver and another 12-13 to my elk hole. It's an adventure. I live far away enough from my favoured hunting grounds, that I decided I needed a trailer that will last as long as I do to get me to these places, so this year I had one custom built for the sour price of $7k.
If I could hunt and fish, and do nothing else, that's fine by me :)

Now that's living!!! I dream of the day when I can start in 6 and 7 in August, then Region 4 in Sept and Nov, with a break in Oct to do some deep sea fishing.

l have walked from my place and been successful , but usually an hours drive gets me in country that offers everything except the northern critters. Will travel when l get draws, and have often used them as an excuse to tour different parts of our beautiful province...those hunts are usually well planned and don't lack for any amenities. :)

Six hours from Kamloops puts you just about anywhere in the province that has good hunting, and I do that regularly. A big trip involves horses and an overnight to go into the north part of region 6 or 7

I hunt 10 mins or so from my door step. I am usually sitting in the bush watching all the southerners drive by in their suzukis or atvs and then shoot the critters they spook up when they pass by. Moosin

Hunt right here on the farm lots for deer, bear, waterfowl and quail. Other trips are a an hour or more into the logging divs, or as far as just north of Revlestoke, Albeta, Saskatchewan, Yellowknife, Ft. Nelson, and Sunday I'm leaving on a 30+ hour trek to parts in the Yukon. The long treks to northern BC or out of province are usually only once a year, we do other short ones within the southern half of BC though when we can. Got a moose draw north of Sicamous this yr so that is for later on sometime after the corn is harvested.

Alas, much like Moosingaround, I too have to waste a good 10 minutes or so to start my hunt. Could have taken a nice little 2x3 off my deck last week when he was working on cleaning out my bird feeder in the yard.
Life is tough. Had to wait for 3 cars to pass before I could pull out onto main street in town last week during rush hour.

Out the door, front or back door, for whitetail, muleys, bear, grouse, and turkey. The moose only overwinter this low, so I have to drive 10 - 20 minutes to the moose holes. The elk holes are 20 - 30 minutes away at the closest. I usually go away from the house to hunt cause the wife likes her pets, except when they eat the flowers and raspberries. Listening to the coyotes yapping right now. To bad they are closed!
