wonder how heavy the fishing line has to be to bring that guy in.

That's the kind of rod I've been looking for. Who makes it? Where did you buy it? And the line too! Ha ha ha....well done!

Ah haha....that's what you called shot down....my little brother had caught a trout in Bella Coola at the Fisheries Pool, only to have an eagle steal it from the beach...he was not a happy kid at that point....awesome pictures.

Oh I don't know, looks real to me! Look how the fish is jumping out of the water like it's on a line. LOL

wasnt trying to make it seem real - it was a picture that happened at perfect timing just as my hubby was putting his rod away and grabbed his camera, the whale jumped for the pic and the rod happened to be in a great spot - how often does anyone get a first hand (out in nature) look at a killer whale jumping - for me was a picture worth sharing - glad y'all enjoyed it - good conversation piece

in the second pic to the right of the big guy is that a small whale?

dont think its a small whale, it does look like one, but it looks like the dorsal has collapsed. It happens to some whale. Am i right?

not a small whale - it is a collapsed dorsal fin - have more pics of the pod as it came upon the boat

Real Cnd. Beaver, some ppl cant see past the end of their nose !
I saw the line doubling back, but the whales playing and breaching where more interesting.
To bad somebody couldnt see it for what it is.

Was it on the west coast or inside straight? Great photo ... I vaguely remember them travelling by my home town when I was younger ... awesome sight. Yes a once in a blue moon chance fore that photo. Thnx for sharing.

Hmmm. Floppy dorsal. I wonder if viagra would work for it.

I thought that was a seal beside it, and figured the whale was playing with it, as they sometimes do..just before they eat it.

Always an awesome sight seeing those babys going by the boat. Pretty well kills the salmon fishing though.:|
