Well after 4 years of living on the Island and my 3rd trip out, I finaly managed to hook my first salmon. It was crazy out there on Saturday. We were in the fish area around 9:30am and there had to be 30 boats out there. By 11:00am we were the only ones left. Everyone else had limited out on Pinks and were headed back into the marina. After 3 hours of fishing, and the 26 fish we managed to get hooked, we managed to net and pull 12 in to the boat for our 3 man limit within 3 hours.

It was amazing we no sooner had the line back in the water and down to depth and they were hitting it again. I spent most of last night putting then in 1/2 pint mason jars and bottling them.

Here is a picture of our catch of the day and the other is of K-1's boat.

Nice looking haul guys, gotta love fishing for Pinks. Guess it won't be long 'till they're in the Fraser now eh?

Work is just something that rudely interupts hunting and fishing.

I had some 1st timers out for some fishing last week. My Bud's girlfriend was absolutely shocked when she realized that the steaks I was prepping from a pink that we just caught, were intended for catching other fish and not for ourselves.

She got over it when she saw the Hali it coaxed into biting.

--->Try one out on the BBQ while they're fresh. Pretty good eats.

Great catch guys. Nice boat K-1. I have the cuddy version of that Cope. I was up island all the long weekend and dropped by Telegraph Cove to see all the action on the dock. Lots of pinks and springs.

Enjoy your harvest Marc.

Sockeye return is looking like a disaster, but the PSC is still predicting 19.5 million Fraser River pinks.

Another good weekend for Pinks. We managed our limits for 3 days, total of 36 fish.
