Time for a change of field sharpeners. Something that would work even with bear fat on it would be great .
What do you use ?
Thanks

Smith's pocket sharpener. Has a carbide side and ceramic side. Actually was quite impressed with how well it worked for a very small, light 12 dollar sharpener.

It does a great job of getting the edge back on the knife in only a few seconds.

Not a replacement for an actual sharpener though. Just a great field one to have

Check out eze lap diamond sharpeners or edgemaker sharpeners.

Fine diamond rods are my go to for quick touch ups. Picked up a Lanksy one recently from NoSale Sports.

This does a decent job. Every House of Knives seems to carry them.

Sabatier 3in1 on sale 70% off at crappy tire this week, diamond/carbide/ceramic
works best when you take enough time to get the edge to the same angle as the sharpener, like any draw through type.

Also a Speedy Sharp makes for short work

Those stupid little sharpeners you get with fillet knives are great for a fast touch up on your blade. They are small free and just a few passes your good to go

Lots of good options but hard to beat the price of this option lol

This is what I use also. Works great.

Point ignition file. Depending on your knife.
25 year old knife still going, when the other guys are stopping to sharpen their fancy knives I'm still skinning.

+1 for the worksharp. But might I suggest a replaceable blade knife? I just picked up an outdoor edge razor pro (over the havalon and bear gryls) Cuz I think I can re sharpen those blades easily.

I have a good steel sharpener in my knife roll as well as a small oil stone, works well for me.
