When do interior black bears tend to start hibernation?

It varies from year to year depending on food sources, temperatures and the individual animal.
If a bear finds a valuable high calorie food source, it may delay going into hibernation until that food source is depleted.
Last year we had very mild November and I had issues with a black bear chewing up my brand new blind in mid- November.

If a bear is lacking in sufficient body mass, it will not go into hibernation until it's needs are sated.
