Ambush started a hunters' poll on here a couple of years ago. Approximately 96% of hunters on HBC supported the grizzly hunt.

We just another poll more recently on a BC Hunting Fishjng page and the results were almost identical.

Insights is garbage. Pay them enough and you can have any results that you want.

One of the supporters/underwriters of the article is Lush Cosmetics.

"West conducted in partnership with Lush Cosmetics"

Got to respect their opinions because they are experts on GB's while they paint in eyebrows.
Nuts.

All you that voted the NDP in.......welcome to social management.
Pure insanity.

And how did they determine that ONLY hunters voted?

They said that 11% of the population in BC describe themselves as hunters. Let's see 4,631,000 people equals 463,100 hunters? But they only sold 97,000 hunting licenses last year? Bad article, with bad "facts".

great minds think alike. I emailed Insights West with the same question.

My sources in the polling industry tell me Insights use almost exclusively online surveys. It's a lot easier to lie to a computer than a human on a phone.

Do me a favour. For fun we created our own poll. It may not be scientific but that's kind of the point. Please visit and vote:

Vote early, vote often, and tell all your friends.

Provincial government seeking public input on their new grizzly trophy regulations.

"Province seeking feedback from the public on proposed grizzly bear hunting regulations

On Aug. 14, 2017, the B.C. government announced that effective Nov. 30, 2017 it will end trophy hunting of grizzly bears and stop all hunting of grizzly bears in the Great Bear Rainforest.

The public can provide input into two policy documents outlining the proposed regulation changes required to implement the ban.

As part of the consultation, input is being sought on:

Changes to manage the ban in hunting areas that overlap the Great Bear Rainforest;
Changes that will prohibit the possession of "trophy" grizzly bear parts;
Changes that will manage prohibited grizzly bear parts;
Changes to prohibit the trafficking of grizzly bear parts; and,
New reporting requirements for taxidermists.
Members of the public may send comments to the Fish and Wildlife Branch at grizzly.bear@gov.bc.ca.

When a comment is sent, the writer will receive an email back confirming that the response has been received. Due to the expected volume of material, individual response will not be possible.

The consultation period will conclude on November 2, 2017. "

The difficulty is that Insights and other anti / non hunting groups are strategic and organized. They're getting airplay on major news outlets. Eventually they will turn fiction into fact. While hunters advocate for science supported wildlife management, for the most part hunters react with emotion to groups like insight. Where possible its important to get out in front, think strategically.

Rob, is there a plan to get some media attention with your poll?
