Unless you're talking small stumps you'll need to wait a bit SB just small campfires allowed no open burning yet. From the link above-

But B.C. Wildfire is reminding people that Category 2 and Category 3 open fires (http://ow.ly/znny309kJv5), which are larger than 0.5 metres by 0.5 metres, are still prohibited.

I have a proper steel rim which contains my fire to the prescribed size, but placed on top of a stump it kind of craters it out and sometimes goes underground where it smoulders for days.
