Not much of a story here as I have recently had abdominal surgery and am limited to road hunting for a few more weeks. Took my son out this evening to try find a little mule deer buck for him to pull the trigger on. Figured with the youth any buck season, we might have a chance. After spotting many does and fawns we were hitting last light when my son's grandfather spotted a body in the bush not much more that 30 yards from the road. From his angle he identified the deer as a small buck, from my angle given the low light and heavy brush I could not positive id. I was worried to give my son the go ahead for fear that we were looking at different deer. Once we were all sure that we were in fact looking at the same deer and we had identified it as legal, my boy squeezed off a shot and the deer dropped in his tracks. The smile and excitement on my son's face was contagious as the we all celebrated this three generation hunt! A proud dad and grandfather to be sure! Thanks to grandpa for doing all the heavy work!
