Any advice for a first time elk hunter in 7-32?

So far I've seen everything but elk. Too bad I don't have a bow or I would have had a decent shot at a nice mulie.

Might be time to try somewhere else. Not finding sign other than a lot of bear skat. I might start making my way towards home and stopping where mulies are at least open for rifle season. If I don't come home with meat again my wife might not let me go hunting anymore hahaha.

Lots of whitetails around and moose are just starting to get randy, had one grunting yesterday. Elk are where you will find them, but they move around a lot!!

Thanks. I don't have a moose tag but I'd be happy to take home either deer species, an elk or a black bear. Not sure if I can believe the few hunters I've talked to but there's apparently not a lot of elk in the spot I'm in right now.
