Was out for the first time this year chasing elk and checking cams.

Had a couple bulls going, but could not seal the deal, Was on the way to check one of the cams when we saw this out in the middle of the field

Yup someone wacked a Buff out in the middle of a field. There is a Buff ranch but it is some distance away, it must have been an escapee.......Someone, either one of the local pit lampers, a zealous hunter or maybe even the rancher, decided that the Buff was going home with them.

When I pulled the card from the cam a click away, guess who was a regular visitor....

It was there from Aug 19th until Sept 8th

What was interesting was that when the Buff was around the camera, the number of deer visits dropped off for a couple days after. They would pick back up again and by the 10th were much more regular.

Cheers

Could have been wolves..

Not to be a smart ass, but have not met wolves who carried off all 4 quarters..... It was shot and boned out, at least it as utilized.
