Your Grizzly count 2017

Lets do our own census . What is your Grizz sighting count this year? Number of days on your trip or out in the woods this season and total number of animals counted. What area ,(not exact directions to your secret spot......), and of course, any good stories of the encounter or sighting.
My kids (25 ,30,and 33 years old) were out in area 7-23 for 7 days and had 4 separate sightings. Definitely 3 different bears. Super blueberry
crop this year in that area. Small berries but tasty. We hunted in an area of about 14x10 kilometers square. Lots and lots of Bear sign , and also had 4 Black Bears sightings. And yes , we can tell a Grizz from a Blackie.

Region 6. 6 seperate grizzlies, one I had to chase out of camp.

First ever grizzly sighting this morning. Region 3 - 13. Watched him eat berries for about 15 minutes from 325 yards then off he went.

Also a week this spring grizz hunting in 5 15, not one grizz

10 days 5-15A saw 11 different bears. 3 were boars, 7 were sows with cubs and one not sure if it was a sow or small boar. Also saw 4 blackies.

Between regions 4 and 7 this year so far I've seen 9 individual grizzlies

Boar, sow and a cub in the flathead and a sow with two cubs behind elkford. The boar was chewing on a 3 pt bull elk

Three varying sets of tracks (old). Two smallish to medium, one Very Large Variety.

Hate to say it but for the ungulates I hope a lot of bears die this year due to the very dry year and extremely poor berry crop..

I second that about Chilliwack Lake. A few friends out hiking that area in the backcountry have allegedly seen them.

1......in my parents back yard trying to get my elk that was in his shed for the night. Elk was quickly taken to the union hall and put in the cooler

One grizz hanging out in the deep creek area between Armstrong and salmon arm.....right down on the valley bottom. Saw the pictures to confirm.

Seen a sow grizz with 2 Cubs in 7-14 in July, 1 km before the great Beaver Lake MOF campsite. Nice to see!! Moosin

Bio in Kamloops would most likely want to know about this one. Few years back he was surprised I had seen grizz in 3 17 multiple times. Back then a study was done on the area and they could not find grizz in 3 17

yeah Francis is a good guy, hopefully be seeing him shortly if my leh goat goes well. Don't know why they'd seem surprised, I mean it's real close to prime habitat.

For me its been 9 grizzly sightings when out shed hunting and putting out trail cams and a few hunts this fall..

did you bag anything on your hunt in 4-34? That's the MU that I hunt. I've been out for half a dozen day hunts with no luck yet. I saw five WT bucks one day, but could get a shot.
No grizzlies.

Sow with 2 big cubs at 100 ft, just starting to load my rifle. Front one was just as scared as me so he turned and ran ,mom stood up and they all ran the other way.Region 7b

Bogus survey. While the responses are interesting, they are meaningless in a statistical sense. Those that have seen Grizz are going to respond, those that have not are not going to respond.

And yes , we can tell a Grizz from a Blackie.Dozens of sightings it seems, how many where the same bears who knows but between hunting, seeing them from my machine, the drive to/from camp or just out cruising it amounts for fair amount of area. Ive been logging out 7-16 and 7-23 all summer.
